HowToMake: Fun Stuffed Monsters!

Date: June 25th, 2017!

These fun loving monsters are good for any occasion, whether it’s decorating your house, or making toys for little ones. I love making these, and following these easy instructions, I hope you do too!

Materials:

  • 1 sheet of felt- 12x9 inch- (any color)
  • 1 Spool of thread- (any color)
  • 1 Needle- (size actually doesn’t matter, just don’t make it too big)
  • 1 marking utensil- (a pen, pencil, marker…)
  • A couple of scraps of felt, to make decorations
  • A whole lot of stuffing!- ( available in Walmart or any craft stores)

Directions:

  1. One one side, draw a simple monster pattern. Put this aside for now. Side note: If you are skilled with sewing, you can make it a little complicated, but remember. The simpler they are, the better they look.
  2. Fold the felt sheet exactly in half, so that the 9in sides are touching.
  3. Next, cut out the eye shape you want. You can make a single layer eye, with a dark color, or layer them as I did in the picture.
  4. Take the felt pattern you put aside, and cut it out. Make sure to cut the back side out as well.
  5. Now is the time for accessories! Take only the front fabric piece of the pattern, and stitch any eyes, decor, or buttons. You won’t have the chance to change it later!
  6. Sew the front to the back using the Overcast stitch. Leave the top open for stuffing.
  7. Stuff the monster! Use a pencil to get stuffing down in the legs and hands as well. Remember that the more you stuff it, the longer it will last.
  8. Sew the top off, and you're finished! Enjoy!
